Ghurkhas & Lurkers

May. 27th, 2008 | 11:16 am
location: Home
mood: contentcontent
music: The Zepp, always...

And what a great day Saturday was.

Meeting up with a whole load of writers, reviewers and readers (not calling anyone a lurker...hope you all noticed that...lol) and it was an absolutely fantastic time. The day just flew by with sharing ideas, pictures, screencaps, chatting about all things supernatural, and drooling over the boys.

We even had our own quiz and writing challenge which was won by Schelz, Ilka and Cal...(we were only going to give out one prize but they were all just so good, we couldn't decide between them...lol) They're going to be posted over on UnGen under the same 'Ghurkhas and Lurkers' banner above. Nip over and drop those guys a review, they sure deserve them. Each entry was scribbled on a piece of scrap paper to a very short time limit and they did incredibly well.

Gonna have to get hold of two more prizes for Cal and Schelz as we gave the beautiful SPN print to Ilka (well she had traveled all the way from Germany to meet us...and was travelling back the same day - must have been exhausted, poor love)

There were also loads of freebies and the lovely Jane had been shopping for us on e-bay and managed to pick us up some incredible bargains. All in all I'm just sad it's over...

Anyway, we all had such an incredible time, we're going to do it again in 6 months. Date is set for 29th November at the Paddington Station Hilton. If anyone would like to come join us it would be a blast.

London gathering

May. 18th, 2008 | 10:11 pm
location: home, again
mood: chipperchipper
music: Massive Attack, Mezzanine

So, almost a week since Asylum and I think the withdrawl symptoms have eased slightly, but only slightly. I do miss being able to spend the day with Bev, Jane and Alison, as well as all the great guys we met there. Good news is that we'll be doing it all again this Saturday, with a whole load more friends too, and I can't wait.

And I'm keeping myself busy posting on FanFiction .Net as well as UnGen.
It's amazing just how addictive posting stories can be, and how important and encouraging every review becomes. I'll bet psychologists would have a field day geting inside the head of the avarage fanfic writer.

Still waiting for photos to be downloaded but as soon as I have them, I'll post pictures of Asylum and of the London gathering too, should be a blast, and I'm starting to feel that little burst of adrenaline just thinking about it. Should be soon though so watch this space...

Asylum

May. 12th, 2008 | 08:21 am
location: just here
mood: satisfiedsatisfied

Here I am back from Asylum, and what a blast that was. My very first convention and I have to admit I've got the bug now.

My favorite bit out of the whole experience had to be the two coffee lounge sittings, where a small group of us get to sit and have a coffee with one of the actors and ask questions...and I saw Jim Beaver and Sterling Brown, both superb guests and incredibly nice people, and both very down to earth. In fact the only thing that looked even remotely 'stary' were the huge hulking bodyguards following Lauren and Katie around all weekend.

Great fun though...and with other guests like Sam Ferris, Chad Lindberg (who is incredibly cute by the way) AJ Buckley, Travis Wester as well as the two girls, this really was a fantastic first convention.

But over and above all that was meeting up with good friends, some who I already knew and some who I'd never met before. Hanging out with Bev always makes for one the best and funniest weekends out there, and add to that meeting Jane and Alison, both writer/reviewers from UnGen and then bumping into Tree, and all the virtual season guys...it was an absolute blast!

I will post photos as soon as I can, but in the meantime, I'm on a roll working towards our London gathering on the 24th...right now it's looking like great fun and I can't wait to meet up with those same guys again...roll on the 24th! Got some VERY cool merchandice to give away and a fantastic mystery prize that Bev and I bought for the occasion.

So, also posting first chapter of Shadow this morning, and already the adrenaline is bubbling away. It always does no matter what I post, but I guess this one is a little more so, as it's my take on the whole 'deal' plot, and my most 'worked' story to date. Well, we'll see how it goes... but no matter how the story goes down, it's gonna be a long while till the smile is wipped off my face after the weekend I've just had. :)

New Episode

May. 7th, 2008 | 09:04 am
location: same as ever
mood: thoughtfulthoughtful
music: oh please!

Just seen the sneak clips from the new episode 'Time is on my side' (courtesy of the lovely Shannon - thanks mate) and I've come away with mixed feelings. Just not sure how I feel about the boys going off in their own directions, it's always been a bad idea in the past. Not too sure about all the speculation about the big cliffhanger either...I do like cliffies - but only if I'm writing them...lol

I still have sour memories of watching the finale of season one and actually shouting at the screen in total disbelief at what Kripke was doing to me, and at how long I was gonna have to wait to see the resolution of that episode.

But, on a happier note, I do have a feeling the music is gonna be back on form, if the soundtrack they added to the publicity shots is anything to go on. Go take a look and see what you think... http/www.buddytv.com

Getting the ball rolling

May. 6th, 2008 | 02:35 pm
location: home
mood: creative
music: The Zepp, is there any other?

So, here it is, the very first post to my new journal and suddenly I'm speechless...but don't worry, it'll pass...lol

I've just finished reading the last chapter of the superb 'In the Light' by Gaelicspirit and it's left me a little sad...no more weekly reasons to get the beer and popcorn in (that's kind of a reading tradition with me) well, not till she writes the next one that is...

And at least it gives me time to get the ball rolling on 'Shadow of the Endless' which is the sequel to 'The Fall of the House of Dream'...so far I have one chapter complete and ready to post, two chapters awaiting beta and I'm working on chapter 4...so hope to get that finished before Asylum...and speaking of Asylum...How excited am I right now? My first convention...and I will be posting a report on everything that goes on there...so watch this space.
